When it comes to independent student housing, London\u2019s Tottenham Hale is a cool, youthful and affordable base \u2013 it\u2019s definitely fast becoming the place to be!<\/p>\n<\/div>

In recent times Tottenham Hale has become more and more desirable as a residential area, with further developments promising things are only going to get better. Along with great places to eat and drink, plenty of art and culture, and a wealth of green spaces to enjoy, I\u2019ve found the excellent transport links mean it\u2019s an ideal place to for your student housing. London<\/a><\/strong> life doesn\u2019t get much better than by enjoying the independence of a house share here.<\/p>\n

Living the London Life in Tottenham Hale<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is very little that you can\u2019t do here. It\u2019s a place that is always changing, and I\u2019ve found something new to do, see and eat every time I\u2019ve visited.<\/p>\n

Gorgeous Green Spaces<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you choose this part of the city as a base for your study abroad experience, a selection of lovely green spaces are right on your doorstep.<\/p>\n

The Lea Valley Walk (which runs the 50 miles from Waltham Cross to East India Dock), includes a section in this area that takes you on a delightful cycle and walking path along the river, via the 10,000-acre Lea Valley Park and the beautiful Tottenham Marshes. This vast grassland is filled with an abundance of birdlife and wildflowers, and you can also see many narrow boats traversing up and down the waterways.<\/p>\n

The Paddock Community Nature Park is another stunning wilderness area that\u2019s well worth exploring. It\u2019s a renowned water bird habitat and is a wonderful place for a relaxing stroll through the beautiful woodland.<\/p>\n

Top Tip: Another green space I can recommend is Markfield Park. <\/em>Eating, Drinking, Socialising<\/strong><\/p>\n

In terms of places to socialise or enjoy a meal, there are so many options it\u2019s hard to choose. There are various ethnic communities living here, including Turkish, Japanese, Italian and South American (to name a few), so there are plenty of interesting little eateries and cafes where you can get some inexpensive food. One of my favourite places is Craving Coffee \u2013 I always get fantastic coffee from here.<\/p>\n

Another of my top recommendations is the Ferry Boat Inn. Not only is this lovely country-style pub really pretty, it is also within walking distance of the station and our student accommodation. It\u2019s also nearby the Paddock Community Nature Park and the Tottenham Marshes \u2013 so if you\u2019ve spent the morning exploring these gorgeous areas, why not stop by and replenish your energy with lunch or a drink?<\/p>\n

Top Tip: The Ferry Boat Inn\u2019s highlights include amazing food (try the half-price pies on Monday!), a great range of drinks and a really laid-back atmosphere. There\u2019s even a beer garden. Get your flatmates together as a team and you can join in their fun quiz nights!<\/em><\/p>\n

Out and About<\/strong><\/p>\n

Strolling the local markets is one of my favourite pastimes in Tottenham Hale and they\u2019re great places to do your weekly food shop, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, baked goods and more. My favourite is the Seven Sisters Market (Mon-Sat, right near the Seven Sisters underground station) but there\u2019s also Tottenham Green on Sundays, and Holcombe Market on Monday through Saturday.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to get involved in the area\u2019s art and culture, with lots of events, exhibitions and courses at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Tottenham Chances (a community arts centre) and the Bruce Castle Museum.<\/p>\n

For the sports fanatics, if you\u2019re into the premier league you can attend a game at the Tottenham Hotspur FC, one of the city\u2019s most famous stadiums. But even if you don\u2019t like football, the stadium also hosts high profile concerts and NFL games.<\/p>\n

Another great place I can recommend for a bit of energetic fun is Stronghold Climbing Centre, a climbing activity centre located just five minutes from our house share student housing. London\u2019s largest indoor climbing space is open seven days a week and is also home to a gym and caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Transport Links\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

When it comes to shared student housing, Londonis extremely easy to navigate from this well-connected location. There are high frequency transport links to central London, the City, the West End and Cambridge via rail, Tube and buses. Major network improvements are set for completion in 2020, including a new bus station, which will make the area even more accessible.<\/p>\n

Estimated transport times:<\/em> Westfield Stratford City is 11 minutes away, with Kings Cross and Oxford Circus 12 minutes and 16 minutes away respectively. There\u2019s also a direct link to and from Stansted Airport, which takes just 35 minutes.
